Apple, with its Products and supporting apps, creates a favorable learning environment beyond classroom, promote collaborative case-based rendezvous and inspire innovation to cope up with digital revolution in dentistry.
Inspire
In line with our leadership’s vision, “Oral Health care for all”, Vishnu Dental College (VDC) prioritizes innovative technologies to empower students. They utilize Keynote for making captivating presentations, showcasing dental case studies, research, and advancements, incorporating 3D models, X-rays, and procedure videos to ignite curiosity. We encourage Sketch tool usage in Notes for brainstorming and exploring dental anatomy using the 3D Tooth Atlas app (BONEBOX, ANATOMY, DAM), fostering creativity. Through immersive presentations, we inspire students to delve deeper into the field, sparkling their curiosity and motivation to learn.
Imagine
Students learn at self-regulated time & pace at understanding different concepts through ipads. Working with cases from different specialties under one roof, students team up to formulate a comprehensive treatment plan using “VAIDHYO”. Academically, they are enabled with an interactive opportunity with specialists to excel their perception of learning abstracts. Students collaborate using “Pages, Keynote, mindnode, freeform and iMovies” to empower their imagination, presented globally as oral health awareness brochures, student video explanations & Hack-a-thon ideas etc. Apple provides a stage for execution of thoughts & creativity thereby instigating critical thinking and rendering an overall personality development culture in students.
Impact
Apple technology has revolutionized dental education by providing interactive and engaging tools increasing educational researches published from 58 to 96 in international scientific journals. iPads provide access to a wealth of resources and collaborate on projects leading to progressive increase in student quality output to 20% in both formative & summative assessments. iPads aided students to collect patient oral health data of rural population, analyze and understand their treatment needs thereby catering services for the same. Students have excelled up to 93% in their academic performance. VDC was recognized by NIRF and ranked 24 & 26th in the last consecutive years.
