Biochemistry is the science concerned with the various molecules that occur in living cells and organisms and with their chemical reactions. And it is also concerned with the chemical constituents of living cells and with the reactions and processes that they undergo. By this definition it encompasses large areas of cell biology, of molecular biology, and of molecular genetics.
