Myth Busters
The government of India had imposed a national wide lockdown to manage the Novel coronavirus disease. This lockdown affected the education system to a greater extent, and all the institutions were forced to move from conventional classroom teaching to an online learning method. The students, especially from medical sciences, were about to appear for their final examinations at the time of lockdown implementation. Unfortunately, the examinations were postponed due to the lockdown effect, and the actual date of the exam is awaited. This uncertainty with the examination schedule led many students to psychological stress as it, in turn, affect their future; especially for final year students. There is a need for the psychologist to counsel and maintain the mental balance of such students.
Our visionary management established the Department of Psychology at Bhimavaram campus five years ago. The faculty from the Department has been organising various programs for the students on personality development, improving life skills, relaxation therapies, etc. These programmes are beneficial for our students not only to maintain their mental balance and also to cope up with their academics. The Department of Psychology extends its support to our faculty and students in the current COVID-19 crisis. The students and faculty, who need support from the psychology department may contact the undermentioned.
