Dentistry in general and Periodontics, in particular, is not only pertaining to the education of dental sciences but also has its roots diversified into the basic sciences viz; Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, General medicine, General Surgery, Research methodology & Biostatistics.
Postgraduate students are finding it extremely difficult to sync in to these basics after a long gap of 4-5 years.
