Equipments
- Digital Ceph – This is cephalometric software that allows one to trace the ceph and perform tracing. It is more accurate and easy to retrieve data. FACAD software is available in department
- Scanner – This is used to scan all the radiographs taken by manual method. Thus, a physical copy is saved as digital copy. It thus helps reducing the storage space .
- Biostar: Used for Fabrication of orthodontic Retainers and Night guards
- Intraoral 3D Scanner: This equipment is used to create a digital 3D model of the patient’s teeth and oral structures. Intraoral scanners are commonly used to capture highly accurate digital impressions of the patient’s teeth. The 3Shape Trios 3 and Medit i700 are available in the department.
- Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Software: CAD software is used to process the 3D scan data and design the aligners according to the treatment plan. Orthodontists or dental technicians can manipulate the digital models to create a series of aligners that will gradually move the teeth into the desired position. Maestro 3D Ortho Studio and 3Shape Aligner Studio software are available in the department.
- 3D Printer: 3D printers are used to fabricate the physical models of the aligners based on the digital designs from the CAD software. These physical models will serve as the molds for the thermoforming process. The Uniz NBEE Dental 3D Printer and Phozen 4k printers are available in the department.
- Biocompatible Resin or Polymer Material: Instead of using thermoplastic sheets like in traditional thermoformed aligners, direct 3D printed aligners use a biocompatible resin or polymer material suitable for intraoral use. This material is cured by the 3D printer layer by layer to create the aligners. The Graphy Tera Harz TC-85 material is available in the department.
- Post-Processing Equipment: After 3D printing the aligners, post-processing may be necessary, which includes removing any support structures, cleaning, and polishing the aligners to achieve a smooth and comfortable finish. The Graphy THC 2 (Tera Harz Cure) with nitrogen and Anycubic wash and cure post-processing equipment are available in the department.
- Trimming Equipment: Once the aligners are thermoformed, they may need to be trimmed to remove any excess material and achieve the desired shape and fit.
